Offers support and services due to homelessness, poverty, drug addiction, alcoholism and other crisis. POH offers temporary shelter for those who are homeless or need a place to stay. Space may be available on-site, or may be provided at other nearby locations. Atonement has supported this ministry by providing volunteers in many capacities over the years and we continue to provide financial support. We also collect needed items in our Donation Center.

Provides local programs and services that include a food shelf, a community lunch program, rental assistance, HeatShare (a program to help with utility assistance), Nutrition Education classes, free eyeglasses program thru Shopko, Back to School drive, Christmas programs, and an emergency shelter. Currently Atonement supports their food shelf by collecting food items in our Donation Center.

Atonement is happy to open its doors on the first Tuesday of every other month to host an American Red Cross Blood Drive. We collaborate with the nearby Church of the Latter Day Saints to provide volunteers for hosting as well as donating. Also, every October, members of the West Central MN Oncology Nursing Society volunteer their time. Many people work together to make a difference! Be part of something big. Make an appointment! Homeless Helping Homeless members help each other find resources for food, clothing, transportation, housing, and employment. We have no dues or paid staff. Our officers and  volunteers are mostly fellow members trying as best we can to help each other out. We depend mostly on in-kind donations of, rides, household items, furniture and gift cards. Atonement financially supports this low-barrier shelter and collecting needed items year round in our Donation Center. Volunteers have also spent time sorting their clothing donations.

Child Advocacy.jpg

The mission of Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is to provide protection, advocacy, justice and healing to all child abuse victims and families in Central MN. For children who have experienced abuse, they relive their trauma every time they have to tell their story. CentraCare established the CAC to bring together a team from multiple agencies and law enforcement to create a “one-stop” approach. Atonement youth have assembled backpacks with items for the children who are served at the CAC.

Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity (CMHFH) works to build safe, decent, and affordable houses with and for low-income families. Households that partner with Habitat purchase their homes with a mortgage they can afford. Atonement supports CMHFH through our Ministry of the Month offering and provides volunteers for several build days during the summer.

Luthern Services of MN.png

LSS Crisis Nursery provides up to 72 hours of free emergency child care by licensed providers for children ages 12 and under, for families dealing with personal stress or a crisis. Atonement has provided in-kind donations and funding for the Crisis Nursery through our Ministry of the Month offering.

A year round retreat center and summer “bible” camp in Alexandria, MN. In January, Atonement collects funds that are used to pay for camperships for any youth of our congregation who wishes to attend a summer camp. Over the years many of our youth have become counselors at the camp and a few have followed a path into ministry. There are also adult opportunities
throughout the year.

This ministry was started by the Knights of Columbus of St. Cloud and partnered with the St. Cloud Diocese. Coats are provided free to anyone who comes on distribution days or through appointments. Atonement provides storage and distribution space, collects coats in our Donation Center and provides volunteers as needed.

Quiet Oaks Hospice House.jpg

Quiet Oaks Hospice House is a residential hospice home in St. Augusta that specializes in compassionate care for residents and their families, offering both hospice and respite care. Atonement has donated quilts and provided funding for Quiet Oaks.

This organization is a a Christ-centered shelter and safe home that brings hope, healing services, and freedom to sexually exploited and trafficked women. Atonement has financially supported Terebinth and have collected items of need for them.

Anna Marie’s Alliance, in St. Cloud, provides safety, shelter, support & referral services to individuals and families in abusive relationships. Atonement has supported Anna Marie’s with financial and in-kind donations and has prepared meals for the residents. Catholic Charities.png

Catholic Charities, of St. Cloud, serves people in Central Minnesota with more than 30 programs that aim to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of individuals and families of all faiths and beliefs. Catholic Charities provides help with food, housing financial services, behavioral health & other needs. Atonement supports Catholic Charities though our Ministry of the Month offering, as well as providing volunteers for the Emergency Services Food Shelf, during the month of September. Atonement collects food/monetary donations for the Food
Shelf during Minnesota FoodShare month in March and Catholic Charities utilizes our parking lot for Senior Food Distribution.

The HELPS community is addressing the root causes of poverty in Guatemala with a unique integrated approach focused on four key areas: Agriculture, Community Development,  Education and Healthcare. Medical and lay persons from Atonement and around MN, have traveled with a group to Guatemala. These teams have provided medical care to many remote areas of the country.

ELCA World Hunger is a core ministry of the ELCA, working to address the root causes of poverty and hunger, in 66 countries around the world. God’s Global Barnyard is a part of the ELCA World Hunger Program. Atonement participates in this program by collecting donations towards chicks, pigs, goats, & cows, along with agricultural training, to empower families living in poverty, throughout the world.

Our neighborhood public schools. Traditionally Atonement collects donations in July for school supplies, or needed items that may be under-funded. We host breakfast for the Chinese Immersion Program made up of students who started in the program at Madison and
continued at North. There are also volunteers from Atonement who are involved at the schools. In 2024 we financially sponsored, for North, the purchase of new caps for the boy's baseball team and visors the girl's softball team.
