Project H.E.A.L.
(Health, Education, Access, Link)

Who

St. Cloud Hospital in partnership with area congregations, community services sites, and the government.

What

Health care screening services for the underserved/homeless

When

The goal is six sessions per month (two sessions/site)

Where

Three sites: Place of Hope, Boys/Girls Club, Catholic Charities

Why

  1. The need exists. As Christians we have a mandate to serve the poor. (Matthew 25:40)
  2. Provide an access/entry point for the underserved into the health care system
  3. Create holistic geographic community (breaking down the barriers of isolation)
  4. Give where you live
  5. Maximize health care resources through prevention, education, and early diagnosis

How

Utilize resources from faith-based organizations (churches), CentraCare Health Foundation, St. Cloud Hospital, community service sites, government

  • Churches provide volunteer medical teams on a rotating basis
  • CentraCare Health Foundation provides funding
  • St. Cloud Hospital provides medical supplies
  • Coordinator provided by a VISTA from the community
  • Endorsed by the Stearns-Benton County Medical Society

Heidi Erickson is Atonement's coordinator. If you would be interested in participating in this exciting new ministry, pleas call her.
